Kidnappers Demand N500Million Ransom To Free President Jonathan's Uncle

Abductors of Inengite Nitabai, the 70-year old uncle of President Goodluck Jonathan, have demanded a ransom of N500million, Sahara Reporters report.

A security source said that the abductors threatened to kill him if the family fails to produce the money. The source also said the family had constituted a committee to evaluate the demand, establish negotiations with the abductors and facilitate his release.

"The kidnappers contacted the family four days after and demanded a whopping sum of N500m. It is believed that the family of the victim has begun negotiations with the hoodlums," he said. Tension and panic set in when the kidnappers failed to establish any contact with the family of their victim three days after he was abducted. And the kidnappers had also warned against the involvement of security operatives in the matter, he said.

South African Immigration Deporting Nigerians For Flimsy Excuses

For a while now the South African immigration have been deporting Nigerians for the flimsiest reasons. Starting from their airport, they deport you for allegedly carrying what they call 'fake' yellow card. Then sometimes they raid local hotels and even pick Nigerians up while they are going about their business. Today Friday Feb. 28th they deported eleven Nigerians for hotel reservation reasons. The ones staying at apartments too were deported because according to South African immigration, their names didn't appear on the apartment lease while clearly they were just guests. Someone I know was affected.

Our government needs to do something real fast because this is not cool!

Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), Former military ruler of Nigeria, now the All Progressives Congress' chieftain, expressed disappointment with Nigerian Army soldiers' indiscipline and apparent inability to fight the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East. On Wednesday, General Buhari gave an interview to the Voice of America Hausa programme.

He advised the soldiers to return to the basics of military training if they want to win the war against insurgency in the country. He lamented that nowadays, the military are accused of collecting bribe, raping women and "wiping out" entire communities as retaliation for killing one of their own.

Hotel Where They Sell Cooked Human Meat Found In Onitsha And 11 People Was Arrested With Human Heads

According to Osun Defender On Thursday, Onitsha police arrested 11 people after they discovered 2 fresh human heads in a hotel (name withheld) very close to the popular Ose-Okwodu market in Anambra state. Two AK47 rifles and other weapons were also discovered in the hotel. The arrest followed tip-offs from area residents that Thursday morning.

The hotel owner, 6 women and 4 men were arrested. After police got access to the hotel, they made a startling discovery of two human heads wrapped in a cellophane bag, two AK47 rifles, two army caps, 40 rounds of live ammunition and so many cell phones.

Asari Dokubo Has Been Arrested And Is Presently Undergoing Interrogation By The Nigerian SSS

Mr. Dokubo-Asari was Thursday summoned to the SSS headquarters in Abuja, where he is being interrogated for comments believed to be capable of breaching the fragile peace the country is currently enjoying. The spokesperson of the SSS, Marilyn Ogar, was not available for comments. She did not answer or return calls. But Mr. Dokubo-Asari younger brother, Rex Asari, who also doubles as his personal assistant on media, said the Niger Delta activist is currently being interrogated by operatives.

At about 12.30 p.m on Thursday, the younger brother Rex Asari said “It is true, He is being interrogated as we speak.” Mr. Dokubo-Asari was quoted to have said on Tuesday that he would make Nigeria ungovernable unless President Jonathan secures a second term ticket in the 2015 presidential election. He also reportedly asked politicians from the North to stay clear of the presidency.
