Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are engaged to be married, a source tells US Weekly. The rapper proposed yesterday, on Kardashian’s 33rd birthday, in front of friends and family at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
Earlier in the day, the 36-year-old rapper Kanye West had presented an award at the Hollywood Film Awards in Beverly Hills but flew to the Bay Area to meet up with his future bride. He had reportedly rented the stadium solely for the proposal. When west popped the big question, the stadium's Jumbotron displayed, "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!" and the Chicago Symphony performed. Kim's sister Khloé tweeted some typically exclamation-point-filled reactions, asking if she was dreaming and proclaiming her tears of joy.
West had just begun his Yeezus tour, which he kicked off with a two-hour set Saturday night. The next day, he postponed the night show, which is the second of the tour, at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver until Halloween. It has yet to be confirmed if that decision was related to the proposal. West's Yeezus tour will resume in the Bay Area at Oakland's Oracle Arena tomorrow night.
This proposal happen to be West's second publicly known engagement, and it will be Kardashian's third marriage, following her divorce from Boston Celtics power forward Kris Humphries, which was finalized June 3rd 2013. West and Kardashian began dating early last year and "admitted" he fell in love with Karsdashian that July.
He announced last year at a concert in Atlantic City that Kim was pregnant with his child, and in June 2013, the couple welcomed their daughter, North "Nori" West, into the world.
"Marriage is something I know that we all want in our future, but I don't have this sense of urgency about it," Kardashian reportedly told Cosmopolitan earlier this year. But with west i just feels like this is it for me."
