In the 1990’s the immensely popular soap opera, Checkmate catapulted her to national renown and is among the standard-setting works for Nollywood productions. Her short film, The Barber’s Wisdom is one of the few shot on celluloid among contemporary Nigerian filmmakers, which attests to the popularity of the home video movement from which Nollywood evolves.

Martinez inherited the Goodison Park rein to Moyes, fresh from lifting the FA Cup with Wigan Athletic, as the Scotsman left to replace the retiring Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford. Seventh-placed United makes the trip to Merseyside this Sunday. Martinez says Everton fans should recognise the 50-year-old’s achievements in his 11-year stay at the club.

Moyes guided the ‘Toffees’ to eight top-eight finishes in his ten full seasons as manager, as well as finishing fourth in the 2004/05 season and also reached the 2009 FA Cup final. Martinez’s side are already pushing hard for a Champions League appearance next season and currently sits fifth in the table, a point adrift of Arsenal. But Moyes has endured a difficult first season as United boss with the Premier League champions set to miss out of Europe’s elite club competition next season. Martinez believes Everton will always want to thank their former manager for his contributions.

The Police are still trying to determine why a 16-year-old boy stabbed 21 students and a security guard in the crowded halls of his suburban Pittsburgh high school before an assistant principal tackled him. At least five students were critically wounded in the attack yesterday, including a boy whose liver was pierced by a knife thrust that narrowly missed his heart and aorta, doctors said. Others also suffered deep abdominal puncture wounds.

The rampage which came after decades in which US schools geared much of their emergency planning toward mass shootings, not stabbings set off a screaming stampede, left blood on the floor and walls, and brought teachers rushing to help the victims. The suspect, Alex Hribal, was taken into custody and treated for a minor hand wound, then was brought into court in shackles and a hospital gown and charged with four counts of attempted homicide and 21 counts of aggravated assault. He was jailed without bail, and authorities said he would be prosecuted as an adult.

I Prefer Javier Hernandez Than Welbeck; Fans Lament

Javier Hernandez
It is fair to say that Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has not enjoyed the best of seasons. Despite 20 appearances in the Premier League to date, most of those have come from the bench and he has a goal-scoring return of just four.

But against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon Hernandez got the chance to start, score and shine as David Moyes' side ran out 4-0 winners. Hernandez set up the second goal of the afternoon for Juan Mata, before Shinji Kagawa turned provider for Chicharito, and the latter's stats for the match as a whole were pretty impressive as he scored one, set up one, played one key pass and had three scoring attempts.
