Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu is heading back to Barcelona.

Barcelona to trigger 23 year old Gerard Deulofeu buy-back clause and re-sign Everton winger for £10.5 million. Deulofeu who joined Everton from Barca on a permanent deal in 2015 but failed to win a place in current boss Ronald Koeman starting line up. He spent last season on loan at Milan but will now rejoin Barca after they exercised a buy-back clause.

According to sources in Spain, new Barca boss Ernesto Valverde intends to move Lionel Messi back into midfield in order to shoehorn Deulofeu into his famed front three, playing him to the right of Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Blues boss Ronald Koeman started last season with Deulofeu as a central striker with Romelu Lukaku recovering from a heel injury, but as soon as the Belgian was available Deulofeu found himself on the periphery of the starting line up and in January joined AC Milan on loan. While in Italy the Spaniard scored four goals and registered three assists in 17 appearances.

He is currently captaining Spain’s Under-21 team at the European Championships in Poland and is expected to complete his transfer from Everton following the completion of Under-21’s campaign.
