A member of the House of Representatives said on Wednesday that some legislators are drafting a bill seeking to end alleged discrimination of Higher National Diploma (HND) holders in Nigeria.
Rep. Aminu Suleiman, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Education, told newsmen in Lagos that the bill would soon be presented to the House.
“Some of us are working on the bill so that nobody will call it a motion. “We will solicit the support of our colleagues in the House, and with GOD and Nigerians on our side, once it is passed, we will push it for assent”, he said.
He said that the discrimination against HND holders by degree holders was unnecessary. The chairman, however, did not say how soon the bill will be ready.
