Manchester United Target Koke, Now Has A Buy Out Clause Of £50 Million

Spanish midfielder Koke of Atletico Madrid, was the star of the derby match as Atletico Madrid battled to a 2-2 draw with their rivals and league leaders Real Madrid. Manchester United are in need of an overhaul in the summer after a poor season under David Moyes. While the new gaffer obviously take’s a proportion of the blame the fact remains that the players have not stepped up to the plate either and new recruits are needed in the summer to combat the decline at Old Trafford.

One player reportedly being targeted by the Red Devils is Koke. Since switching to a more central role he has become a real talent for Los Colchoneros scoring five goals and bagging ten assists this season for the club - and playing in a variety of positions in the starting line-up.

His performances for Atletico have also seen him cement a place in the Spanish squad - with the World Cup just round the corner he looks to have booked his place on the plane. David Moyes reportedly went to check him out in action in December as Atletico took on FC Porto in the Champions League and was said to be considering a January bid for the player.

Back then he had a release clause in his deal worth just €20 million but he renegotiated his contract at the end of December and his new release clause is closer to £50 million seemingly putting an end to any interest in the player. However his performance in the Madrid derby was certainly worth the money.

He was Atletico’s best player in the game and even scored a goal for his troubles in a heated derby match which saw Atletico coach German Burgos sent off for squaring up to the referee.
