PSG Plot A Transfer Swoop For Manchester City's Yaya Toure

Star midfielder who recently accused the Blues of ignoring his birthday now says he was not allowed to spend time with his dying brother. Mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain have stepped up their interest in Yaya Toure, who has widened his rift with Manchester City.

The midfield powerhouse claims Premier League champions City did not excuse him from their end-of-season trip to Abu Dhabi so he could spend time with his dying brother. Ibrahim Toure, 28, lost his fight against cancer on Thursday, leaving sibling Yaya heartbroken.

"At the end of the season, I wanted to stay for four or five days with my brother before I flew to prepare for the World Cup with Ivory Coast," he said. Except that City did not want to give me a few days.
"I went to celebrate the title championship in Abu Dhabi while my brother was in his sick bed. By fortune, Kolo (another brother) was at his bedside. "I blame myself for not insisting and for not leading them to respect me. However, club officials knew that I had been suffering for a few months, seeing the health of my brother decline."
City did not wish to comment on the accusation, but have never denied a request for compassionate leave.
