Louis van Gaal took over at United today Wednesday 16th of July 2014. Football agent Phil Smith is certain that new Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal will continue to splash the cash this summer. The Red Devils have already brought in midfielder Ander Herrera and left-back Luke Shaw for a combined total of around £70m as Van Gaal looks to steer United back into the Champions League.
"Van Gaal will spend big, there’s no doubt about that" says Paul Smith. United have been linked with a host of top players in recent weeks ahead of the start of the Premier League season on 16 August.
And Smith believes that there are plenty more arrivals to come at Old Trafford this summer. “Manchester United expect to win the Premier League title and get back into the Champions League,” Smith told talkSPORT.
“Anything less is not really acceptable. Van Gaal will spend big, there’s no doubt about that.”
