A Car For The Digital Generation

toyota
The latest concept car being worked on by Toyota looks like it is going to be interesting. One of the main features of it is that it is said to be able to change colour. It will also work out how you are feeling, have an augmented reality windscreen, offer social media interaction and suggest possible destinations.

The car is question is known as the Toyota FV2. The Toyota Motor Show is when the public will be able to see it for the first time. Takeo Moirai is a manager in Toyota’s product planning group and he was chosen to speak about the potential appeal of the FV2.  He said that it is designed to reach out to members of the “digital generation”. These are people who have been used to handling gadgets throughout their lives and have no trouble adapting to new gadgets.

Both the interior and exterior colour of the vehicle can be changed when you want to. This sounds good for making the daily commute a bit more interesting but doesn’t it also sound pretty useful for criminals trying to give the police the slip? The car uses facial gesture recognition to work out how you are feeling and then give you ideas on where you could go based on this.

Perhaps most interesting of all is that there is no steering wheel and the driver controls it by standing up and moving from one side to another. It sounds like it could be pretty fun to drive if it is ever made to the production stage.
