Lady Gaga, Katy Perry & Sting Will All Hit Prague

While some big acts went to Czech Republic festival, the local arenas and stadiums in the capital had a pretty thin summer, with a rainy show by Metallica, an appearance at Prague Castle by Jeff Beck and a show by Bob Dylan as a few exceptions.

But that is about to end with Pharrell Williams appearing at O2 Arena on Sept. 17. The singer known for “Happy” hopes to make a music-starved Prague audience just that. For the classic jazz and swing crowd, the one and only Tony Bennett, one of the kings of the 1950s and ’60s, will bring his classics to Prague Congress Center on Sept. 20.

The rest of the year will see an array of pop stars including Lady Gaga, Kylie, OneRepublic and ZAZ. Fans of guitar rock with a 1980s flavor will want to catch Lenny Kravitz, who will have a new album called Strut.
A true oddity on the list is a re-creation of the 1973 Genesis tour for the album Selling England By the Pound, with original props and stage design, but not the original band. The show is authorized by some former Genesis band members.
