Oyo PDP Denies Existence Of New PDP

PDP-National-Chairman-Alhaji-Bamanga-Tukur

The Public Relations Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Oyo State, Mr Kehinde Salawu, has described as untrue and unfounded, reports in some quarters that the new faction of the party led by Kawu Baraje, had been operating in the state, saying the report had no iota of truth.

Salawu, who made this known yesterday, said the PDP in the state was united and under the leadership of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, noting that insinuation that new PDP existed in the state must have come from unscrupulous elements and politicians working for the interest of the opposition party.

“We are urging our supporters and the national leadership of the party that the Oyo PDP remained one and indivisible under the leadership of the president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and the chairmanship of Alhaji Tukur, any report to the contrary is baseless and an evil machination from the opposition camp,” he said, adding that the PDP remained solid and ready go regain the control of the state in the 2015 election.

Salawu also frowned at statements being issued by one Mr Lukuman Agboluaje in the name of Oyo PDP, saying that the latter could “only be an impostor, as I am the recognised PRO of the party at the national and zonal levels.” Salawu called on the media to desist from misinforming the people by portraying Agboluaje as the spokesman of the party.
