PRESIDENT Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the commander in chief of the armed forces of the federal republic of Nigeria, has congratulated the Superb Golden Eaglets of Nigeria, just as he will host the world champions on their return from United Arab Republic (UAE) where they recaptured the FIFA Under-17 World Cup after beating their Mexican counterparts 3-0 in the final.
The presidency had hinted through a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the president, Dr. Reuben Abati in Abuja, that the President looked forward to receiving them at the Presidential Villa and “showing them the full appreciation of the nation when, as expected, they return in triumph to Nigeria.”
The president is expected to announce generous rewards for the team and their officials. The president had earlier on Thursday dispatched a high powered Federal Government delegation to cheer the Eaglets to victory in the Middle East country
