What Will Become Of PDP In 2015, If They Continue Like This....

Governor of Kano State, Engr. Rabi’u Musa Kwakwanso has expressed fears that if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) crises continues, only God knows what will happen in 2015. He noted that lack of “listening ears” and other undemocratic activities by the party’s leadership are some of its major problems. Kwakwanso, who made this known while receiving the Chairman, Senate Committee on MDGs and leader of the joint committee of the National Assembly on MDGs to Kano, Senator Ali Muhammad Ndume, at the Government House in Kano yesterday, said what happened last Sunday when the police asked five of the G-7 governors to disperse from their meeting at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja, was unconstitutional.

Recounting their ordeal, the governor said while the meeting was in progress, a DPO (Nnnan Ama) suddenly appeared, asking the participants to disperse, on orders from above. “We were discussing in my sitting room when the DPO came in and asked us to disband. Such has never happened during military era.” He said their meeting on Sunday was to prepare for an unscheduled invitation from the Presidency. “We were discussing how to approach Mr. President and come up with a stand when invited, but this meeting was disrupted by a DPO. We didn’t offend anybody, but like criminals, a DPO was sent to disrupt our meeting,” Kwakwanso said.

While calling on the party’s leadership to be just and fair, Kwankwaso added, “What is happening in PDP now will not augur well for either of the two conflicting camps within the party.” Turning to MDGs projects and other developmental activities since he became governor for a second term, over two years ago, Kwankwaso pointed out that his administration’s achievements in terms of infrastructure and social services are numerous, tangible and far-reaching.

He affirmed that his administration would continue to work with all stakeholders towards ensuring that the state benefits from MDGs projects, which, according to him, will be well executed.  Earlier, Sen. Ndume had told the governor: “From what we have seen after going round, we are tempted to ask you, Your Excellency (Governor Kwakwanso ), where are you getting the money to execute all the projects we saw?” He, therefore, hailed the governor’s commitment to service delivery.

According to him, the committee will soon be invite the United Nations to come and inspect the counterpart projects being executed by the state Government with a view to encouraging the government to do more and to explore areas of cooperation.
